All projections are generated using Monte Carlo simulation based on user-entered inputs and simplified market assumptions. Past market performance does not guarantee future results. Actual investment returns, inflation rates, Social Security benefits, and lifespans will differ from any model output.
The tool uses historical return distributions as a basis for simulation. These assumptions may not reflect future conditions. Small changes in assumptions can produce materially different outputs.
The 4% withdrawal rate guideline referenced in this tool is based on historical academic research (Bengen, 1994; Cooley et al., 1998) and does not guarantee portfolio sustainability in any individual case.
Social Security benefit estimates used in this tool are based on user-provided inputs from their SSA statement. Actual benefits are determined by the Social Security Administration and depend on earnings history, claiming age, legislative changes, and other factors. This tool does not model all Social Security rules and edge cases.
